I love the lip stick that smells like pickle ice cream. Now if they really made that stuff, I'd buy it!

What a great post! I never thought of those things in that light before. I wonder if I should be mad at the industry. Hmmm?

It is a good thing that I do not have to wear makeup as I would go crazy with all of the stuff out there. I found this post humorous and thank you.

Can you believe that we have been puting on toxic materials on our face and body to "beautify" ourselves?
I think the beauty industry should come clean with what they put in their products.

Christina has a point...but water and food are not options. Make-up is. Cosmetics and nail polish are the most toxic things on the market. I have attended the Safe Cosmetics conference in the past when I worked for a natural personal care company. It is shocking, but that industry isn't regulated. There are thousands (not a few chemicals or hundreds...but thousands) of ingredients including known carcinogens in the most popular brands. Unless something is 100% natural, I would not use it- espeicially if pregnant. Your skin is your largest organ and absorbs everything you put on it.

humans have tried to beautify themselves from the beginning of time. they use things that happened to be around. charcoal clay fruit juice etc. those things weren't necessarily "safe" the air we breath is toxic.... should we stop? the water we drink is toxic the vegetables that we get at the supermarket are laden with chemicals. This delema isn't just about makeup.
